Baptism

Today was Brody's baptism. He did a great job through his baptism...looking all around showing off how cute he is to everyone. He was sporting his new sandals that mammaw and pappaw bought him (which I think we had more compliments on than anything else.) Brody didn't even cry when the water was put on him. After it was done, we sat down, and then he decided since he wasn't in the spotlight anymore than he should probably let us all know that he was still there. So as soon as the next baptism was about to take place he began his snorting and crying to let us know that daddy was right when he said that he had filled his pants during the baptism part!! He's a sweety!!!

Sleeping Through the Mouse

So this morning was a good indication of how well Brody sleeps. As I was talking on the phone to a co-worker I saw a little baby mouse running across my living room floor. I promptly began screaming and jumping up on the chair. Then I thought maybe I should actually do something about it, so I called Brian to find out what to do. I screamed every time the mouse moved...loud enough that Brian's co-worker could hear me through the phone! When it was all said and done there was a mouse hiding under a bowl in my kitchen (which I hope he's still in there, I don't dare look), and my throat was scratchy from it all. And did Brody help out his mommy?!?! NO!! He slept through the whole thing as if nothing ever happened!!! Great for his sleeping...not so good for him protecting his mommy!!! :)

Preparing for our First Road Trip

We're getting ourselves ready for our first overnight trip! Mommy is stressing out about remembering to pack everything while Brody is just getting himself ready to meet everyone. He even wrote a fun little note about it to send to Mammaw and Pappaw. (I know, he's advanced for his age!)

Growing Bigger

Wow, I'm beginning to realize how quickly our little Brodysaurus (he sounds like a dinosaur so we have given him a new little nick-name) is growing up and growing bigger. First the growing bigger...I had to pull out a box to start putting some of his clothes away that he's already grown out of!! After Brody decided to throw up his breakfast/snack all over him and me this morning while we were out and about, I pulled out an outfit that was in his diaper bag for the past week anticipating that I could put him in it...good thing I could stretch it or else he would have been going naked today! So I have a few little outfits already stored away to pass on to baby DeJong in a few weeks.

Growing up...WOW!!! They wern't kidding when they said this would happen fast. Can you believe he's already 4 weeks old? He is starting to show his age. As he's laying here on my lap he is looking all around and tracking all the sounds he hears. His head quickly turns towards the window whenever a tractor goes by (he'll get used to those sounds sooner than later and it won't even phase him.) He also, in my opinion, had his first recordable smile this morning!! I'm waiting for Brian to see it and verify it, but Brody was wide awake and in conversation with me (although he was using that dinosaur language again so it was hard to understand him.) He smiled at me about 3 times! I haven't seen it anymore yet today, but my goal is to try and catch it on camera to prove it to you all!! :)

So my goal is to try and keep this updated more regularly...you have my permission to call me out on it if it's been a while since I've posted!! I'm still new at this so just work with me! :)

Baby Bell at 20 Weeks

This is our second ultrasound, but the first ultrasound we could actually see a baby! Amazing.
